As you can tell im back on track regarding mileage. Added up everything and gots my figures straight. Pretty awesome amount really, when I think about the fact that Im just doing a little bit at a time. Its not much I realize and I hope it gets higher more quickly but you know what...I'll take it. Something is better than nothing.
Running: Ran the other night still doing my 2 min run and 3 min walk. Felt pretty good. Was surprised how good I felt actually. I am doing this thing where Im trying to get my body in check. I am probably to big to really do this right now, but i want to go barefoot. I also am reading this book called Born To Run, and it has me looking into a vegetarian lifestyle. I don't know if I can do it, but I want to try. At least try and not eat any meat until the evening. My usual diet consits of a morning shake. I use strawberries, blueberries, bananas, and low fat chocolate milk. Blend it up together. I would like to get where I eat a big salad for lunch, with lots of veggies, and maybe some kidney beans, or black beans for protein, and a snack in the afternoon that consists of fruit of some kind. Thats what I would like to do. I think I can manage that. Back to running. So as I was running this girl who had to be 5'1, streaks past me, hauling ass. She was hot but thats beside the point. She had a guy on a bike trailing her. It was pretty damn impressive I have to say. Also, if that guy was just admiring the view and didn't know her, kudos to you sir. So if you are the hot chick, or guy riding the bike over by the starbucks off of forest on the trail that leads to white rock, and you are reading this I just want to say...WELL DONE! Ha!
Rangers: The law have officially won the Silver Boot! Which is given to the overall series winner in the Rangers/Astros inter league games. Also there is some talk about the Astros possibly coming over to the AL West. Which would really ramp up the battles against the law and the stros. I hope that happens it would be exciting, and fun, as well as add a legit rivalry for the Law.
Music: Currently listening to The Low Anthem. Its not a bad record. Lately Ive been trying to find new music with little to no luck. Nothing really tickles my fancy. So if you have some suggestions please hit me up.
Well that's all I gots Zombie People. Talk to you tomorrow!

June 27, 2011 Miles....Not sure. Add 3.5 to whatever I had last time
First thing is first, as you can see I have changed the page background. I liked the pic of the steel guitar I took, but when I saw this pic, it had to be mine. Its a picture of one of my favorite bands Band of Horses, in Sweden, at a festival. As you can see the place is packed. Its just a cool picture I think.
Running: Run was so so, still trying to get over the 2 minute hump. I guess with all my time off and what not, its just impossible for me to get comfortable with that. What can I say Ive been slacking. June has been a tough month for me with work, and vacations. However come July I am re-dedicated to doing it back how I was. Thats only because I don't have anything going on in July and August, except for going to Odessa when my brother and his wife have their little baby in late July/early August. So the next few months should be pretty good for my running.
Ive been wearing my VFF everywhere, but my Mrs, wouldn't let me wear them on Saturday to lunch or out and about. So that kind of sucked but I'll break her down eventually.
Rangers: Won 2 out of 3 against the Astros, then lost 2 of 3 to the Mets. They got SPANKED on Sat, and made it somewhat respectable yesterday. Hot day to be at the ballpark on Sat. Temps were 100-101. I was lucky though my seats are in the sun when its setting but in an early afternoon game they have shade. So it wasn't so bad.
Thats it today party people, I have to roll. Take care and I hope you are all doing great.

June 24, 2011 Mile 75
See I told you all that by the time I blogged next Id have a mileage update for you. I wouldn't say Ive lit the running world on fire, but hey something is better than nothing. Its been hot here, and my hometown Odessa is getting it really bad. They haven't had any rain in almost a year. Sad, water rationing has taken place, and its only getting worse. So please pray for rain in West Texas.
Music: Yep, I'm going to start this out with Music. Bon Iver. The before mentioned persons new record came out, but even better than that, I have found his original band. DeYarmond Edison. This is one of my favorite new bands. These guys are absolutely spectacular. Also Justin Vernons is Bon Iver's given name. He is very talented. If you like bon Iver, or DeYarmond Edison (Vernon's two middle names), check out Mount Vernon. Not much out there to really listen to, but the Internet has helped me get my fix. Thanks Internet! Anyway on the new Bon Iver record, my fav tracks are, Holocene, Calgary, Beth/Rest. Beth/Rest has a really cool Bruce Hornsby or 80's movie soundtrack feel. Love that track.
Running: So yesterday I plugged through 3 miles. It wasn't bad. Very very very hot. When I was driving to my run my temp in the Tahoe said 97. Yeah...at 7Pm. Had a nice breeze on the way out, and didn't get very hot. However that breeze only goes one way, so that means on the way back I had no breeze. I was very hot. But ended the day strong, felt ok, and now onto Friday.
Barefoot Running: Ive been reading this book called Born to Run (No its not about the Bruce Springsteen song), about a tribe in Mexico called the Tarahumarra (apologies if mispelled), and how they run many miles with sandals on. It also talks a bit about Barefoot running or maybe minimalist running, and how its good for you because it can keep you injury free. Im only half way through it, and between the new issue of The Drake (fly fishing magazine), and Fly Rod & Reel coming in Im trying to get back to it. Its nice to have options. Also this is completely off the subject...sort of, but at Costco the other day, they had Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter so I bought it. Really looking forward to that. Let me just say that we should read more. My wife is the best about this, and Im not so good, still its nice to know I read enough books a year to keep me above the World average of 3 a year.
Rangers: Off last night, but the bullpen lost the game for them on Wed. Colby Lewis did a good job. Im still sort of angry about it, but whatever. Mets are coming to town this weekend and Im going. So Im looking forward to that.

June 21, 2011 Miles UHHHHH....lost count. I'll get back on that
Sorry all I haven't downloaded my Nike+ in a week or so, so I have no idea how many miles I have done since I talked to you all. I apologize. I know I'm sort of flying by the seat of my pants around here, leaving you in the lurch. I apologize and as I stated yesterday I am back, at least until the first week in July, then I'm back for good!
Running: I got in a run in Arkansas over the Big Dam Bridge in N. Little Rock. Its this huge bridge that passes over the Arkansas River. I looked at the mileage and from start of the bridge to the end its almost a mile long. See the pictures below. I took one but not the large distance one.
Its very steep up the bridge and nice to walk down towards the end. I'll tell you that much. Lots of runners, walkers, bikers, everyone really uses this bridge for its proper purpose.
This is an aerial I found online. Shows how big this dam bridge is! HA! Its really a beautiful run, and I went early in the am, and that made it all the better really. Neat thing also is that this goes to downtown Little Rock. Also pretty cool. Its really nice when cities invest in their citizens with things like this. My company did a bridge that is down river from here that connects the trail system. Its called 2 rivers Bridge.
I also ran in Jonesboro but nothing to show or share. Its a college town, and Arkansas State University is located there, but again nothing worth sharing.
Last night, I felt like crap and today I have a sinus headache like NO other. I hope to get some miles in. Its really tough on me to go from 2 distinct climates, and areas. Trees, and desert kill me.
Rangers: The law swept the Indians (at that time best record in baseball), then lost 3 of 4 to the twins worst in AL, and got swept by the evil empire (yankees), and now have been back on track. Won 2 out of 3 against the Braves, and beat in state rival Houston Astros last night. So hopefully we will be back on track. personally I just don't think we can go far in the playoffs.
OU: 11 Weeks until CFB!!!!! WOOHOOO! Soo excited. On fathers day, we went to rally house and picked up some OU stuff for my little buddy since hes growing out of what he has. Also picked him up a mavs championship tshirt, and some SMU stuff, because his mama went to SMU and we are going to go to a few games this year. I love CFB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Movie: Went and saw the Green Lantern, let me just say that Ive been reading the comic for a while and Geoff Johns has done some amazing things with it, but this movie is dog shit. Im not going to spoil it for you but if you know nothing about the Green Lantern you might like it. Since I do know stuff thats probably why I didn't like it. Reminded me alot of Thor, and that's not good. Anyway if you are disappointed by it I say go rent/buy/stream the cartoon movie Green Lantern: First Flight. Great story, great way to setup the entire franchise, much better than the stupid movie.
Well my lovely little Brain Eaters that's all for today. I hope you have a good day! Take care.

June 20, 2011
Ok so Im sure some of you are wondering where the heck I am. Did I give up? did I die? Did zombies actually attack me, and take over? Well the answer is NO! to all of those. Alas June has just been one busy month for me. I was in AR last week for work, and then we had the head of our division come in, so I was out of pocket, then on Sat and Sun well thats fathers day weekend, so you know there is a bunch of stuf that goes along with that. All in all just busy. I have ran some over the last 11 days though, and I will hit you all back about it this week, but I just wanted to check in and tell you number 5 is alive. I hope you are all well, and I will get with you all again for the fore seeable future. Have a great day!

June 9, 2011 Miles- 66.33
Hey neighbors! Just saw an old episode of Home Improvement. Sorry. So how is everyone today? Good? Bad? Indifferent? Before I get into my Uber shitty run last night I wasn't to talk about something else. I want to talk about "so you think you can dance." My wife watches this program, and I walked in after my run whilst it was on. I couldn't demand she turn her favorite program, So I sat down with my laptop, and watched the Yankees, redsox game. However, since I was in the same room as the above mentioned program, I noticed a lot of Crying. The crying wasn't just with the ladies...ohhh no, the dudes were crying as well. There was this one guy who looks kinda gangster crying, just crying every where. It was really quite disturbing the amount of tears that was being shed. I know Las Vegas is a town of both joy and sorrow but these skinny dancers take that to the extreme. I don't get it, and personally feel it was all a bit un-called for. Ok so thats my rant. Onto my other rant.
Running: Ok so my run started off well enough, I was going to do 10 - 2 minute runs. For a grand total of about an hour. Let me say it was 90 degrees outside as well. So again started off great, ran strong but wanted to start off slow, so that I could maintain a pace the whole way through. Seemed like a great idea. So I made it the first 4 just fine, and then I started to get really hot and sweaty on the 5th one. I mean real hot. So I only did like 1.5 on that one. I turned around, and bam the heat hit me like a sauna. I realized that the wind I felt on the way out was not there the way back. So I tried to push on. I made 1-2 more 2 minute runs, then the rest were all 1 - 1.5 minute runs. I just couldn't do it you know. I was hot, and miserable. At one point I lost track of how many runs I had done. It just wasn't good. Then towards the end of the run my right foot and toes started to hurt. So all in all just not the best of days. I dont' really know where i got off track on my running. Its been a month and a half, and I feel like I should be ruling these 2 minute runs but Im just not. Im not giving up mind you but I am slightly discouraged today. Also I tried again to run without music, not so good. Im going to try with music this Saturday and see how I do. If I do good, and feel good etc, then I might have to give up trying to run without.
Rangers: Finally beat the Tigers. Thats all I have to say about that.
Oklahoma Football: The sooners are ESPN's #1 football team in the country. So that puts alot of pressure on my boys from Norman, but I don't care. I think sadly with Austin Box dying (our senior middle linebacker), its going to give us the motivation to win it all this year. If we win it will be Bob Stoops 2 national title in 6 tries. I think we will have a good squad this year, and Im looking forward to going to the Sugar Bowl.
Thats all I have today everyone. Hope you all have a great day. Take care.

Hey Party people. How is everyone doing today? Hope all is well, with you and yours. Man I made my coffee extra strong today (by accident), and it has gotten me a bit wired.
Running: Okay, so last night was my first run back in Texas, and it didn't go great. I think my body was still full of all the crap I had eaten over the weekend. I shake my fist at thee Bacon Jam! Yeah Bacon Jam. The couple had biscuits covered in bacon jam. Its a good thing that I don't live near that. I'd weigh 76,569,404 pounds. It was DELICIOUS. So instead of doing 11 2 minute runs, I just did 8. Which is what I was supposed to do on Thursday, but hey sometimes you have to cut it short or meet your death. I chose the easy way out, but Im telling you I was hurting. The other thing (and I wonder if it contributed to my not so good run day), is I found that I could use my watch for my intervals. IE, I can program it to run 2 minutes beep, walk 3 minutes and beep. I mentioned that I was not a huge fan of running with music and headphones, so this seemed like an excellent opportunity to forgo that need and stay on the couch to 10k program. I only did 3 miles, and I will say I didn't go very quickly however it turns out I move faster than I thought with music. I cant officially confirm this, but tonight Im going to experiment once more to see if this is the case. If so even though running with headphones is a pain in the ass, it may just be what I have to do, to get more miles and be quicker.
Running Part II: Ive been reading a book called Born to Run, its about....running. But more importantly its about ultra-running, and this guys journey to keep running even though all the doctors have told him to stop. apparently his answer is barefoot running. Now the barefoot movement has gotten alot of momentum in the running community, and I know there are people who read my blog. If you run barefoot or have some thoughts on this please let me know. I would like to try it but just to keep running. Since im a big fella its sort of made me nervous that I could get hurt by wearing my Asics. Thanks
Rangers: Freaking lost 8-1 are you kidding me. WOOSAAAAA. Ohh well I was watching the Mavericks play anyway. Great basketball game I have to say. Lebron James who? HA! One more game in Dallas, and then back to Miami. God willing we can win tomorrow night, and then pull one out in Miami!
Thats it for today my cute little zombies. Look at you! Cute little Zombie aren't you? HA! Well I hope you all have a great day, and enjoy this summer, before long it will be fall and you know that means College Football!!!!! HELL YEAH BOOMER SOONER!

June , 2011 Miles - 59.62
Hello my little zombies. How is everyone? Eat any bwains? Well it was a long weekend, followed by a long week off. I left town for a few days, and was busy at work, just couldn't post even though I wanted to. My memorial day was pretty good I have to say. I spent it with my family and friends. I also got to see the Hangover 2. I'll just say it was okay, same joke format, same everything pretty much as the first. Although they did take Stu to a VERY, VERY dark place. But all in all wasn't my favorite. I expected more I guess, instead of the same. Also saw Bridesmaids. It was ok. The chick from Mike and Molly is hilarious in it. Her character made the movie. Hoping to see Kung Fu Panda 2 at some point this week, and on vacation.
Running: Well I woke up Saturday and did the last of the 1:30 runs. Felt good and strong, even though it was hot as shit outside. Thats one of my biggest gripes about Dallas, it doesn't really cool off that much at night. I mean when you go to bed and it 97, and you wake up and its 91 its not that much better. So anyway I sweated my ass off on my run, and felt good. The rest of the day I spent with my little boy, we ran some errands, and hung out just a great day. I ran last night starting the 2 minute runs. I have to say man, not sure Im ready for that crap. I would say of the 11 I had to do, 4 of them I cut short. Now to be fair I cut them short due to running up hills, but still. It took a lot to get that going. The other thing is since the app tells me when to run and not I have to wear my headphones, and listen to music. This is a new experience for me, and I don't really like it. I thought that listening to music would help distract my mind, but it doesn't. I think Im going to have to figure something else out. This headphone thing isn't working for me. Still the nike+ watch is working well. Toninght instead of taking a night off Im going to have to run my second day of the week. Since Im going out of town, not sure I will have the opportunity to run tomorrow, and I konw I can do it on Friday or Saturday. So its just a matter of sacrificing my day off today, to possibly get 2 days off in a row. I know I know I should make time but my flight leaves at like 630, so I can't get up any earlier than 5 to go for a run. Im just not going to get up at 330 and go for a run. NOT HAPPENING.
Wed 6-1-2011 Run: was a good run. It was rainny here again so I put the old treadmill to work again. I sweat like a mother on the treadmill, and thats fine by me. The more sweat the better. Anyway I did 3 minute runs, then moved into 2 minute runs. Like a boss. Managed 3 miles on the mill, and was done.
Saturday 6-4-2011: As I noted above (which was written on 6-1, Ive just edited it to make it more like it was today, except for the running which I left because I thats how I felt about the Tuesday May 31, 2011 run) I was leaving town. Went to Irvington VA for a friend of my wifes wedding. Was ok. I'll leave it at that. But I did get to run on Saturday there. I woke up early, and took off at about 6 am. It was very cool outside, since Irvington is on the coast. Irvington is a very, very small town. So I just ran the streets and got to know some of the territory. It was an ok run. I was a bit hungover from the night before, and didn't have alot of energy because of that. So I might have to move the 2 minute run weeks to 3 in a row, just because I slacked, ate, enjoyed time with my wife, and drank.
Rangers: Are or were on fire won 4 in a row from Cleveland, and then lost last night to the Tigers. Which is to be expected when you sweep the best team in baseball.
Thats all I got, hope you all have a great day, and I plan on getting back on the blogging schedule which includes a blog about my run tonight. Take care.

Take care.

May 27, 2011 - 44.72 Miles
Running: Well yesterdays run was really good. I felt really good, just all in all a great run day. I felt very very strong towards the end, and picked up the pace. According to my nifty thrifty Nike watch which is working again. Note: Must download before 5 runs, or it wont work. I did my best 5k at 45 minutes. Now I realize Im not breaking any land speed records or anything but I really felt strong. I didn't eat much dinner, so my stomach was kind of empty, and I felt hungry driving to the trail. The weather was a cool 79 degrees. Just the perfect storm for a great run. Although I will say I woke up this morning with my knees hurting a bit. But I took some aleve, and now all seems to be in working condition. Days like yesterday make you look forward to the next run day with a happy anticipation. Im taking a much needed day off today, and then tomorrow is a big run with 11 1:30 runs. Im hoping that I can do 4+ miles, that way I know Im moving forward to my 6.2 mile goal.
Music: Ok I know Im a bit of a broken NPR Music app record, however they have an explosions in the sky concert streaming on there. It is freaking epic. EITS are a band that actually started in Midland Tx, and now live in Austin. They are music only, no singing. But man sonically they are just AMAZING. I own all their records, and the noise, texture, quiet, and loud moments they produce are just astounding. See them in concert because its that much more loud and soft. Seriously though, just check them out for free, and see if you likey. Also NPR is streaming Eddie Vedders new record Ukulele songs. Its okay. I don't love the Ukulele but the way he uses could be mis-interpreted for a mandolin at times. I love his voice though. He is one of the great singers of my generation.
Rangers: Play today against the Royals. I gets to go. Im excited. The Halos lost yesterday, so that increased the Laws divisional lead to 1 full game. good day sunshine.
Well thats all I have today my lovely Zombies. Hope you guys have a wonderful memorial day weekend, and remember what it is we are getting a day off for. To remember the soldiers who have died for our rights, and freedoms. Although sometimes it may seem as though we live in a nation that can't quite get our crap together, the one thing we can always seem to agree on is that the men and women who serve in the armed forces are awesome, and deserve every bit of our respect.
Have a great weekend!

May 26, 2011 - 41.5 Miles
Hey hey Zombie Party People, how the heck are ya? Hope all is well with everyone. Things are good here in the TX. However, I did seem to catch my wife and sons cold. Woke up this morning and my throat hurts, and nose is a little more runny than usual (allergies most of the time). Nothing a little dayquil cant cure though. So Im very excited to see the Hangover II this weekend. I realize its going to be cheesy, and I don't expect to laugh nearly as hard as I did the first time I saw the hangover, but as long as its a little funny, Im happy. The Mavericks are moving on to the NBA Finals. One part of me really wants them to win, and the other hopes the heat win so I don't have to hear about Lebron, and not having a freaking NBA championship. UGH! Its annoying! Anywho. Other than that things are going well here. Just the usual, gearing up for the long weekend. Which I am looking forward to.
Running: As you can tell by the mile counter yesterday I walked 2.5 miles. It was my in between run day, and I don't run on those days. Today is Run Day Fun Day though, and Im looking forward to it. Thats a good sign right? When you are looking forward to running? In other running related news, my pants size has dropped to a 44. I know I went shopping yesterday at lunch for some shorts, and that is the size I wear. They were a little snug, but the 46's feel off me. Im very excited at all the positives running is bringing to my life. Interesting article yesterday about how your mile time at middle age can help determine what your heart risk is. It was done by the good people at the Cooper Clinic in Dallas, which is just down the street from me. If that place wasn't so expensive, Id be a member there. I also read a thing about how coffee in the morning can help jump start your metabolism. what does all this have to do with Running? I don't know exactly, but its health related, and thats running related. See how I turned that around? Im like a word ninja, or at least man able to bend words and meaning to his will.
Music: Still listening to the usual Zack Walther, DCFC, & My Morning Jacket. Still not sold on 2 of those 3.
Rangers: The law won yesterday afternoon. Keeping that .5 game lead on the Halos, since they won yesterday also. However the rangers are off today, so if the Angels win, we lose our lead. Bummer. Good news is the royals come back to town this weekend, and Im going to the game on Friday! Woohoo. Excited. Last time the Royals were in town they got swept. Hope we can keep that up.
Thats all I got today my little lovely zombies. Have a good day, and eat them Bwains!

May 25, 2011 - Total Miles 39
Running: Well in the greater DFW area last night were storms that produced Tornadoes, so I didn't run outside. I ran on the treadmill upstairs. Instead of doing the a-typical week 3 program that I would have done had I been outside I decided to ramp up a bit. I ran 3 minutes took a 3 minute break, ran 3 minutes, then moved down to 2 minutes with a 4 minute break for 56 minutes. All in all It came out to 17 minutes of total running. Not to shabby if I do say so myself. Really kicked my ass, but thats cool with me. Here is my complaint with running on the treadmill. A.) Im a big man. So I have to walk at one speed, while I move up the speed to get to my running speed. B.) Its alot of pressing buttons and watching the screen instead of letting my iPhone tell me when to run, and just sort of enjoying being out side. What I like about the treadmill A.) I sweat a ton, and that has to be good. B.) I get to watch the Rangers play while Im running. So maybe ultimately it all works itself out. Still my preference is to go outside and get some fresh air.
Did you see the new title bar? Yeah with the miles on it. Thats the new thing Im going to do. Im going to keep a mile tracker up there, so you fabulous people can keep up with my miles. Now, the bar keeps up with total miles since I started the couch to 10K app. Just to clarify.
Music: A good friend of mine is in a band called the Zack Walther Band, they just put out a new record called Into The Fray, go check it out. Its a pretty good record, Ive enjoyed it thoroughly.
Rangers: the Law lost last night, Quintin hit two HR's off of Holland. So hard to come back from that, although I'll give it to them, they tried. With this loss and the Halos win, the Law only have a .5 game lead on the AL West. So lets hope we beat the WSox tonight, and the Angels lose.
Thats all I go today Zombies. I hope you are all well, and I will hit you on the flippy flip. Latres on the menge (I love you man reference).

May 24. 2011
Hey Zombs. How is everyone today? Like the cool new background? That yellow was just way to LOOK AT ME. So I changed it to something much more subtle. I took that picture with my iPhone at an 1100 Springs concert, here in Dallas. I liked it, and I thought the pic I took of the Lonestar beer cans which are equally as cool may make my blog look counter productive, to losing weight, promoting a healthier lifestyle, and such. But hey I do drink Beer, and if I can manage to take a cool pic of some PBR, and Lonestar together, I might just use it. Im crazy like that.
Music: First things first, NPR Music app is streaming a few new big time records...FOR FREE. Death Cab For Cuties much anticipated new record Codes & Keys, as well as My Morning Jackets Circuital (stupid name). Ive listened to both records a few times, and I have to say Im not really sold on either. But I have the whole week to listen for nada, and see if I like the new records or not.
Rangers: The Law beat the WSox last night, and Josh Hamilton hit a homer his first at bat back. I was very excited, then Nelson Cruz hit one. Our offense has been missing these two key pieces, and now that they are back I hope we will get on the winning track. Although our pitching is still suspect!
Running: down to the nitty gritty. Today is a Run Day Fun Day. Repeating week 3, as Ive stated before and Im ready to get it done. I went for a walk yesterday and I couldn't get my damn Nike+ watch to work. Damn thing wouldn't find a signal. So I just did my normal 2.5 mile walk route. But it still irritated me. I never had that problem with my garmin. It might have taken 5 minutes but it always found a signal. ALWAYS! I got to thinking though because I had 5 runs on there, if maybe it was full and couldn't hold any more information, thats why it didn't work. Doesn't really make sense but its just an idea. We will find out tonight because if it doesn't work tonight then Im taking it back. Anyway looking forward to tonight, and my feet aren't hurting much anymore, I feel good, clothes are fitting a littls looser. All in all just feeling great thanks to running. I'll hit my zombs back tomorrow and let you know how it went, but I imagine it is going to be spectacular.
Thats all I got today. I hope everyone has a great day, get out, do something in the fresh or semi fresh air (depending on where you live), and do or do not there is no try!

May 23, 2011
Hey Zomibes! How is everyone? Hope well. This was a great but very fast weekend. On Saturday I went to Sniper Rifle training, and it was freaking awesome. Learned to shot longer distance through using the MOA, and L/R on the scope. Had two center shots, but was in the heart of the target every time pretty much. It was a lot of fun, but like I said it was all day. So I didn't get back home until Saturday evening, and my lovely wife was sick, or getting sick, so I had to take over for the little buddy that evening, and most of the day yesterday. I didn't mind, after all she kept him all day Sat. Yesterday, I decided to help out by going to the grocery store, and planning the meals for the week. Turns out im not a bad cook after all. Ive always been pretty good at the grill, but I like to buy easy things to make for the week. I got stuff for tacos, hamburger helper, and chicken. All in all I did a pretty good job I think. I also grabbed some stuff for dinner last night. I decided to grill out since that's my summer specialty. I made turkey burgers. I think I make the best Turkey Burgers,
Take 1lb of ground turkey meat, put it into a bowl.
2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon of Light Soy Sauce
3 tablespoon of BBQ sauce (preferably a sweet one)
1/4 of an onion chopped finely.
Mix all of the above together until you get it nice and mixed, and then throw into patties. I also like to make a little sauce to put on the burgers while I'm cooking but I cant divulge that secret. Sorry. Alot of turkey burger recipes want you to put in filler, but Ive found the filler usually causes the burger to break apart on the grill. So I don't do that. But its up to you. I made turkey burgers, baked sweet potatoes, and peas. The peas were OK. All in all it was a good meal. The best part about it was that I put a piece of cheese on my sons burger, and he ate it up. Ate the burger, ate the sweet potato, ate it all. I was very happy because usually he doesn't eat much of what I cook for him. We even got to do a little bit of swimming on Sunday, he and I. He loves our pool, and we just motored around. It was a truly great day. A great day and weekend where I ate healthy, and feel awesome. Didn't go off my diet, and that was awesome.
Running: I decided to run on Sunday, and sleep in a bit on Sat. since I had sniper rifle training. So yesterday I woke up early, and just couldn't pull my ass out of bed, so I ran about 11:45AM. I ended up doing 3.3 which was exactly the same as 3.1, consisting of 11 runs. I drove over to that trail to avoid the traffic, and it was overcast outside, so shouldn't have been to bad. For some reason I just couldn't get into the groove. Ended up doing alot less mileage wise than on Monday, and didn't reach the best mile time I had then either. I felt OK, but my back was a little sore from taking the gun punishment on Sat. Maybe that was it? I don't know. But either way I finished, and I was happy that I did. I'm rerunning week 3 this week, so hopefully I will feel better, before I move on to week 4. Kind of interesting that this week is actually week 5 of my exercise program. I'm really starting to feel better, and my clothes are fitting a bit looser as well. That's nice. Like I said though just feeling good about me again. I wish I looked better, but that takes time.
Music: The Civil Wars, I listened to some NPR program this weekend that had this awesome band on, and man there harmonizing, is just awesome. I cant stop listening to there new record. Its good, sort of reminds me of Damien Rice's first record O because of how its quiet, and lots of soft music at times, but then you get Barton Hollow which sounds like a bluegrass train, and gets the old blood pumping. Good record, and the two people in the band seem like just great people. So go check it out.
Rangers: The Law lost 2 of 3 to the Phillie's this weekend, which just goes to show how if we make it to the fall classic again the NL is going to school us. But Josh Hamilton and Nelson Cruz are supposed to be re-activated today, so maybe we can get back on the winning track? We shall see that's for sure!
Thats all I got today and its alot. Have a great day Zombs. Zombie OUT!

May 20, 2011
Running: Yesterday was the Run Day Fun Day, I did really good. I actually drove over to this running trail we have by our house. I have been getting murdered by the hills over by the house, so I thought maybe if I drove to that trail it would give me a little break from all the hills, and maybe I could judge if I was getting stronger, better, faster, you know all the usual BS. After all Ive been at this for almost a month, and I wanted to see if I had made some progress. Also, my buddy who is a triathlete talked me into buying these shoelaces that you never have to tie, I hated them, and took them out yesterday. They were hurting my big toe some how. So I also wanted to see if regular shoelaces would make it hurt less. Guess what....they did. My toe and feet all together feel much better today. Weird that rubber (or whatever they are) laces would cause that much pain. Anywho, so I went over to the trail, and boy was I wrong about no hills. There are a few areas that are so hill ridden I was really dying. However, I made it through. I only ended up doing a little over 3 miles, and I was slower per mile than on Monday, but i think that was to be expected because of all the hills and massive wind blowing in my face due to an incoming storm. It was a tough outing considering I was trying to cheat myself and make it a little bit easier. I guess thats what you get...right? Im thinking also that I should repeat 1:30 week. As I was running yesterday I started doing the math, and if I doubled up every week from now until the end it would be a 25 week program, which is a week over 6 months. To be honest I think thats a much more attainable goal than running 6.2 miles in 3 months and a week. I could see doing a 5 k in that, I mean after all Im basically there, but for long distance, I need time. Also, Im a big fella and I don't want to put any more stress on my knees and ankles than I have to. Hopefully I will be able to lose some of this weight throughout the process (Im using weight watchers and doing quite good. Its amazing how much easier life is when you don't feel like a slave to food) and with the weight loss maybe running will come easier and I can ditch the doubles, and move on to week after week. Either way I don't have anything planned, so I don't really care how long it takes me. Today is a completely off day, no nothing. I really feel like I needed that today, so it came at a great time. Tomorrow morning though, is back to run day fun day.
Rangers: Lost last night, they let the Royals back in the game in the later innings, as usual our pitching staff is week. We still lead the division so im not that upset.
Mavericks: Lost last night also to OKC. Sad, because when I turned it off the Mavs were winning. I don't watch a whole lot of basketball but it is the Western Conference Finals, so I'll watch that. Just the Mavs though, I could care less about the heat or bulls, which has incidentally turned me completely off of sports radio, because all they talk about is lebron and the heat, and Im so damn sick of hearing about Lebron James.
Music: So I go to this website every day called Pop Candy, they offer up pop culture tidbits, with articles, reviews on movies, comic book stuff everything, and the other day she posted a link to Stereogum, where you could download 10 Bon Iver Covers for free. I did, and man I have to say that guy is so awesome. I loved his record-For Emma, Forever Ago, EP-Blood Bank, and this. All 3 are so excellent. I cant wait for the newest record to come out in June. NPR music is going to stream it for free for a week before it comes out, which is so exciting. I plan on listening to it every day that week. Any way my favorite cover of his is his version of Annie Lennox's Why. Just download it you will enjoy it I promise. Its a live cover and the audience participation is awesome as well. My second favorite cover on the record is The Outfield Your Love. Wonderful job. All in all really surprised and happy with how wonderful these 10 free songs were.
Thats all I got today my zombie loving peeps, tomorrow I go to sniper school. More on that later. Take care, get out, and spread the zombie love.

Running: Man yesterday was TOUGH! I made it through but I can feel it in my legs and stomach today. The hardest part was the 9th run, after a big hill walk, my back was screaming for a break. I made it through though. Just kept telling myself I was making myself stronger. Funny how things feel a certain way at the time, but really aren't that bad when you think about it later. Still was a tough day, and I welcome the day of walking today. I will say that for some reason the side of my feet hurt, and I think its because of my shoes. I might have to find a different pair. They are just making it very uncomfortable to run, & walk in. The new Nike watch preformed well, did almost 4 miles yesterday 6.2 here I come.
Rangers: Well the Law lost last night, and so did the Angels, but the A's have crept up and now are tied with the Rangers at the Top of the AL West. Damn you Billy Beene and your money ball ways. Still a lot of season left. Hell All Star game is still a month and a half away. Can I just say voting for the allstar game is an absolute joke. Its a popularity contest and everyone knows it. Thank god for the coaches picks, which get deserving guys in the game who aren't "stars."
Music: Ive been listening to Okkervil River alot. I really like their new record. Its catchy, fast and slow. Just a great effort by an Austin indie band. Im very happy with the music coming out of Texas from, Okkervil to Explosions in the sky, to Josh Aboott Band. Just great stuff.
Well that is all I have today, sort of a short post but I really didn't have alot to say.
Later Zombs, take care of yourselves.

Yesterday, was a walk day. However, I got to try out my new Nike+ GPS watch. It worked amazingly well. I have owned a Garmin in the past, and my biggest beef is how quickly it would find the satellite. Sometimes taking up to 3 minutes. This is time I want to spend going not standing in my driving looking like some deranged bomber who is checking his watch, while looking to the sky waiting for his big explosion. Sadly, the Nike isn't that much better. It works with tomtom, and it took about a minute to a minute and a half to get the satellite connection. Still ease of use on this watch is freaking epic. hit a button and hit run, and it asks if you want to connect to the nike thingy I don't use, I say no, and bam its connecting. Ease of use is really wonderful. Its like a mac. So I did my walk and it said that I did 2.6 miles which I guess is about right, I don't really know for sure, but I will say the Garmin used to say that same route was 2.5 miles. So I am just going to pay closer attention to it next time, to see if it comes up with the same reading.
Running: Today is Runday Funday. I'm excited but a little bit nervous about moving up to 1:30 seconds. I know shut up already! But when your fat, and a zombie, you think about shit like that OK. So I'm excited and nervous all at the same time.
Music: Ive been listening to the NPR music app ALOT lately. Pretty damn awesome I have to say. I can't listen to all songs considered that long, because even though I thought I had eclectic taste turns out its not as eclectic as I thought. That's cool though, I'm currently listening to the program New Mix, pretty awesome. They played a cut from the new Bon Iver record, and it just made me that much more excited to hear the new record. Sounded awesome. Anyway check out the app, I can't remember if it was free or like a 1.99 but either way its totally worth it.
Rangers: Rangers are leading their division. Yep the law whooped up on the ailing White Sox, and the A's beat the Angels. So as of today the Law has a .5 game lead on the halos. After a wonderful home weekend series against them, Im really happy to see them continue the trend.
Well thats it for today zombs. I wish you all the best day. Take care of yourselves.

Whats up Zombies? Not a whole lot going on here. Except for the great State of Texas has take away the HOV lanes on I635 for the next 5 years, turning my morning commute from 20 minutes into 40 minutes, thereby keeping Texas worst road (actual study came out and said 635 was the worst in Texas for delays, and something else I cant remember), capable of keeping that designation for the next 5 years. WAY TO GO! Don't get me wrong its going to help things ultimately by putting 6 lanes of HOV above the general traffic, and turning those HOV into toll roads. Yep where most places celebrate people carpooling to work, in Texas we just charge you for the convenience, of trying to save our planet and fet to work quicker. I swear the people in charge in Texas don't have a freaking clue. WoooSAW! Ok, enough venting about these idiots. On to important things.
Running: Well as you may have seen I ran on sat, and don't run again until tomorrow, however I get to use my new toy...my running watch tonight. I'm very excited about this. Hopefully it will work okay!?!
Rangers: The Law won 2 out of 3, and are now just .5 a game out of first place in the AL West. They played really well all weekend, let a heart breaker go on Saturday, but Sunday showed they had some gumption and wherewith all, to eek out the close ones. I was especially proud of the pitching staff, whose mediocrity shown through but managed to get defensive help from the rest of the boys. Also the run support was good, but mostly just there when it was needed. Yesterday, Ian Kinsler had an epic day going 3 for 4. Nice to see him hitting again, he'd really been struggling and a good day is what he needed.
Sooners: OU on Saturday unveiled the Statue of Sam Bradford. For those not in the know OU has an area known as Heisman park, where every Heisman winner has a bronze statue. Sam added # 5 to the collection. I must say I was unimpressed by the statue, in that it didn't look like him at all really. Although its got to be weird to have a statue of yourself up, when your like 24 or whatever.
Although Billy Sims statue didn't really look like him, save for the gigantic AFRO....actually after looking at his statue and the below pic, pretty damn good job!
So that's all I got for now. Hope my fellow Zombies have an awesome week. Take care of yourselves. Later.

This morning was the run day fun day. I felt really strong. I even managed to not hyperventilate on the hills. So next week I start the 1:30 sessions of week 3. I'm actually excited because I feel so much stronger. I even went out and bought the Nike + gps watch. Full review coming later on after I use it. However I'm excited and I'm feeling good, my wife says I'm looking good, but to be fair she always says that. That's why I love her. Although come to think of it I'm going to have so much gear on running I'm going to look like a mountaineer on a journey up everest. I mean the big watch, the blue tooth headphones, the iPhone, bandana (so sue me I wear a bandana, yes I realize I'm not a hippy in 1967 but it keeps the sweat out of my eyes and for some unknow reason I don't like wearing a hat), my clunky looking stability shoes, & well that's it. So maybe I'm over exaggerating but still just feels like one more thing. Once I'm back to running distances without being fat I'm ditching a vast majority of the crap. Not the watch and not the bandana (yeah yeah I know). So until that time I the fat guy zombie with all the expensive shit on. Haha!
Rangers: we beat the angels and their top pitcher weaver last night. Good run support, and Ogando pitched solidly. All in all a great outing. Also in good news, Josh Hamilton took Bo yesterday. So the journey and the MVP will be back sooner than later.
That's all I got today the law is on at 3 and I gets to watch it with my little buddy. A great Saturday for all. Take care my zomb buddie. I think someone in Alaska is reading my blog, if you are please send me a note I'd love to talk to you. Take care, go outside, enjoy the day.
Zombie out!

What up Zombs!?!?!?! Its Friday, and I'm very excited to not have to go to work for the next two days...after I get off at 5. What am I going to do? I have no idea, but I know what I'm not going to do. Go to In N Out Burger, where the local indie news paper food blogger waited in line for wait for it....wait for it....4 hours to get a stupid ass hamburger. Now I was born and raised in Texas, and Ive been to In N Out in San Diego I have to say, wasn't worth a 20 minute wait in line, much less 4 hours. Peeps be crazy! Maybe you have to eat it alot to get it. Anywho In N Out is planning a bunch of stores around the DFW area. So everyone will be able to enjoy marginally good hamburgers. WOOHOO MEDIOCRITY! The one big thing I'm doing is going to the see the Rangers on Sunday. Excited to see my boys play and hopefully whoop some Angel ass. Last time not so much. Other than that its family time. I'm excited because the Mrs. is going to a baby shower, and I get to spend a little bit of time with my little boy just us. Other than that I have running planned for in the morning. I love the Saturday morning runs. Ill talk about that below. I'm also proud to say that this whole week I stayed 100% on weight watchers. I am very proud of myself. I work with a bunch of skinnies and they always go out to eat, at Taco Bueno, Buffalo Wild Wings, Five Guys Burgers & Fries, Etc, Etc, but this week I ate my lunch at my desk and read my book at lunch. Enjoying the coolness of this May. It feels good to stick to something. I'm gaining discipline that's for sure. GO ME!
Running: Well last night was my Thursday run, and I have to say it wasn't bad at all. i think waiting a week to go to 1:30 running was an excellent plan because I felt much stronger. Even running up some of the hills I felt pretty good. The last minute run of the day was all uphill and I thought I was going to hyperventilate, but I didn't. I'm getting faster thats for sure. Tomorrow I'm dong an early morning run. I love getting up at my normal 545 on Saturdays, throwing on my gear and running. I like it mostly because its so quiet outside. I live near I635, and HWY 75 in Dallas, so at 530PM, or 700AM you hear noise, and you hear it the rest of the day. On Saturday morning, its completely quiet. I love it. Makes me feel like when I lived in Lubbock and Odessa. Anyway tomorrow is 9, 1 minute runs as well and I expect to rule that like I did Thursday night and move forward to week 3.
Music: I'm listening to The Avett Brothers Live Volume 3 right now. One of my favorite bands, and favorite live records. These guys kick some serious ass, if you don't like them you are a crazy person, PERIOD.
Rangers: Well I already said it up top, going to the game on Sunday, and we have a nice 3 game series this weekend to take the AL Central. Be like Nike and just do it already.
General Sports: So I just want to take a second and say that all the hub bub being made about Albert Pujols hugging the Cubs GM is just so ridiculous. Who cares? Is it Albert showing the cardinals, is it the cubs getting him? NO. its just two men hugging. This is the worst thing about our information society. Something happens of no major significance and suddenly its a big deal, because sports radio needs something to talk about. Give me a freaking break. OK, that's all I have to say about that idiocy.
Have a great weekend fellow zombs, go out and do something outside. Play with your kids, enjoy spring. Its going to be beautiful here, and I wish the same for you all as well! Later Taters.

Today is a Run Day Fun Day. Yepper. I must say I'm looking forward to it. Ive been doing weight watchers for men online, and I am really starting to feel good. Not hungry all the time, and if I am I can eat all the fruit I want for free. This is in my opinion the best thing that WW has ever done. By taking the points away from fruit they make it where when you are hungry you can make that healthy decision and not get dinged for it. Where as before it was like well a Banana is 2 points and such and such that's not healthy is 4 points whats 2 more points. Now the new plan I feel encourages you to eat that fruit. Just my opinion. I eat alot of fruit though. Also I like the fact that I can have real oreos and not hate myself, because its 2 points a cookie. That's a good thing. I'm not really into the community of people but theres lots of suggestions and who knows if I lose a whole bunch of weight maybe I can be a success story on TV? That would be cool. Then I go do P90X, and get totally ripped, and my plan for world domination begins. Insert evil laugh. Seriously though, eating right, and exercising, I'm hoping helps to offset sitting in a chair at work all day. That's a scary info graphic I must say. But also I wonder how the hell do they figure this shit out?
Running: Well today I do 8 cycles of walk 4 minutes run 1 minute. I'm looking forward to it. Its been rainy and humid here in Dallas TX, so I might have to do the workout on my treadmill but you know that's why I bought it. For winter and crappy summer/spring/fall weather. I used it last night for my 45 minute walk, and my feet are still hurting. Its only when I'm wearing my running shoes. So I'm starting to think its the shoes and not me. Like right now I'm wearing boots and I cant feel it. Ohh well, might have to do some more research. I really want to get into that barefoot running. However, that is a very long time down the road. Also with Fathers day coming up I think I'm going to ask for a running watch. Nike makes a cool one, as well as garmin. Going to have to research that before I make a decision. If you read this blog, and judging by the stats only one person does, leave me some info on what watch you use.
Rangers: Did I mention the rain? Yes? Well because of that the game was rained out in the middle of the 4th inning yesterday, with the Law up 7-0. Mitch Moreland hit his first major league grand slam, and increased my fantasy baseball team point lead by like 45 points or something. I love you Mitch, and my friends hate you.
Well that's all I gots today Zombs, enjoy the day. I hope the weather is better out there where you are!

May 11, 2011
Yesterday was Run day Fun day. It was also the Mrs, and my (mine?) anniversary (actual day). It was a good day overall not a whole lot went down. Ive finally gotten over my extended need for sleep, AKA my little boy WORE MY ASS OUT. and am feeling like my old self again. I was forced to watch the biggest loser with the MRS., since there was nothing on the channels that we pay for except Angus but she thinks that show is stupid, while I find it to be quirky, and funny. Its also possible I relate a little to it as well. So I was forced to watch her fave program. My problem with the biggest loser, is that these people need to be there, much like I probably do as well. However the little alliances and such make people vote off individuals who really need to be there for the sake of the game. I'm sorry but I just think these peoples lives are more important than some stupid game. Ok, so that's my beef. I watched the program and as usual there was copious amounts of crying and tears. blah blah blah. The other thing about me is i don't respect male criers. I just don't. As sad as that sounds men should only cry when their close family, children, and dogs die. Just the way Im built. My wife calls me the tin man. OIL CAN, OIL CAN. Any who, I was wanting to watch the Rangers, but the wifey put the kibosh on that, and we have been watching the voice which is a pretty good show. Although its on late 9:00pm, and I get up early to head to work, so its impossible to stay up and watch the whole of the show.
Running: Last night like I said I repeated week 2, with the 1 minute runs. It was good but with all the hills around my house its tough for a big ol' fella like me. I managed through though, and was proud of myself. I think if I can finish out this week strong I can def, move on to week 3 next week. My feet hurt a bit, but thats to be expected I would think since Im pounding them like no other, for the first time in a very long time.
Music: Ive been really disappointed in my music selections lately. I just cant seem to find anything I really wanted to listen to. I needed something new. So I went out to itunes and found a few things. The Damnwells have a newish record out. Since I own their first two it made sense to go buy this one. I really really like it I must say. continues on with what they have been doing with a countryish, pop, rock feel. Very smooth, and the lyrics are quite good. The second record I bought was Southerner by Trent Dabbs. Its pretty good as well. Singer songwriter stuff. He has a song called Neil Young, that says "he wants to be someones Neil Young." I thought that was both a clever nod to his idol, while hoping that someday he can be that Idol for another person. Either way I am a little happier I have some new records to listen to at Work.
Rangers: The law won last night and like I said I didn't get to watch any of it. But I saw the condensed game on my MLB app, and it sure did look like a convincing win. At this point we are tied with Oakland for second in our division, so if we win today we take sole possession of second. Supposedly it will be 2 weeks until Josh comes back, so if we can keep this up maybe, just maybe we can be in contention when he comes back. Ohhh....did I mention that the angels are coming to town this weekend? Yeah so if we can take this afternoon from the A's, then win 2 of the 3 game series after a day off on Thursday we will be in great shape. But alas the MLB season is a marathon, and we aren't even a 1/4 of a way done. So the boys have both time and ability on their side.
Well thats all I got today. Lots on Rangers, and Music very little on running. Sorry. But with a repeat week not a lot to report really other than those hills freaking suck!

Monday Funday
So executive decison day. Ive decided to just repeat week 2. My legs & body feel really sluggish today, and I just think if I did the 1:30 run it would be to much too soon. So tomorrow when I run thats what I'll be doing. It will be dejavu for my twitter followers. So all 3 of them will wonder if Ive gone insane. Other than that was a good weekend. Went off the diet. Ive come to the realization that I can't have any treats I really enjoy in the house. I just cant. Im weird like that, or maybe I need to work on my discipline, but I will eat them. Yesterday was mothers day, and I got some brauts to BBQ, as well as some Corn and a sweet potato/onion medley. So I wasn't real bad yesterday, but then I made a chocolate chip cake for my wife. We have to get rid of that right away. Luckily the nanny has kids and will take pretty much any free food we offer up. So that helps. Very tired from a long weekend though. Had to do something I haven't done in a while go buy a big Sugar Free Red Bull. I was afraid the caffeine in a diet coke wouldn't cut it to get me through the day. 5 bucks down the drain, but I am starting to feel a little peppier.
Running: Today Im doing a 45 minute walk, and tomorrow is run day. So Im keeping it light while still getting out, and hopefully getting a little sweaty.
Music: I have a headache right now, so Im listening to Sigur Ros's album ( ). Its pretty nice to listen to since its very melodic and quiet at times.
Rangers: Suck. They droped 2 of 3 to the Cranks. The Evil empire even managed to score 12 runs yesterday, and Derek Jeters 50 year old ass had 4 hits, 2 of which were homers. Our pitching has gone from suspect to AWFUL. You would think with a CEO & Hall of Fame pitcher like Nolan Ryan in charge we could at least manage to get some pitching....NEGATIVE! Well we start a series with the A's tonight and if we lose will be .500, in third place in the division, and looking towards the cellar. Makes you wonder what would have happened if Josh Hamilton hadn't tried to take home while in Detorit.
See ya Zombs.

May 7. 2011
Well last night the mrs and I celebrated 3 awesome years together. We went to one of our favorite dinner places in Dallas, called Asian Mint. They have Asian fusion cuisine, and sushi. Went off the diet a bit, by having chicken and shrimp fried rice. Also had a Sapporo beer. Sara let me try some of her sushi and I'm not normally a fish person but it was good. Then we went and saw Thor. It was okay. Not my favorite of the marvel series. Reminded me of Iron Man 2. Little plot, little resolution set up for sequel and ultimately the avengers movie. It was okay I reiterate. So we went to bed a little late. Woke up at 545am and pulled my ass out of bed to finish up couch to 10k for the week. It was identical to Thursday's workout with 8-1 minute runs and a total of 46 minutes. I have these really cool motorola Bluetooth headphones. They kept messing up, and a few times it would blank out when I was supposed to get my running notification. So I made up for kyat other points. Today was tough what with the late night last night and salty food. But I pushed through. Once I was finished I looked at week 3's potential runs and I just don't think I'm quite ready to jump to 1:30 runs yet. Def not 10 of them. So I think I am going to repeat week2 so I can feel more confident about moving ahead. I'm not working towards a specific date to run a 10k and my feet at times hurt. I'm a big man and I feel like I need to give my body more prep time in order to remain well before getting big runs in. If I don't I might just be setting myself up to fail. I'll talk to my buddies who are runners and see what they think before I make any decisions. So until Monday I am resting. Tomorrow is mothers day so I have to do the good husband father thing.
Rangers: well the law lost last night. Matt Harrison got shelled by the cranks and losing his fourth game in a row. As I said the rangers pitching staff is suspect and starting to come apart. There isn't any real starters and hitters have figured them out. Tonight the rangers fight to stay above .500. Already behind in al central. So we shall see. Baseball has a he'll of a long season and there is a lot of games to be played. So hopefully we can turn it around in may and June to prepare for the hot ass summers in tx.
Music: I need a good running play list. I have been listening to Jacks Mannequin albums because they are pretty upbeat and bouncy. But I have to go to my extensive music library and figure out whatever i feel would make a kickass running list.
Well zombs that's all I got today. Watching the #9 MLB greatest game convo on MLB network, then off to the rangers game. So have a great day zombs and hug your moms.

Greetings & Salutations
Hey peeps and zombs. Thats short for Zombies. I use the term, not in the traditional sense, but more in people who sit on the couch watch TV, and veg all day. AKA...ME! I am a Zomb. I admit it. But Im starting to change that. I started the Couch to 10K app on my phone, and am currently on Week 2 workout 2. Since the app only does 3 days, Im almost done for the week. I thought I would use a blog to maybe talk about running, how Im trying to lose weight, as well as Baseball, and Football (if it ever comes back). Ohhh....also I love Music, and comic books. So Yeah Im a geek. Im also a luck geek, I have a wonderful wife, beautiful baby boy. Its because of my little boy I NEED to lose weight. I should mention that im an OU grad, and will talk alot about college football. Also im a 20game season ticket holder for the Texas Rangers so expect some of that as well.
Music: Currently I'm streaming Okkervil Rivers new record "I Am Very Far," off of the NPR music app. Great record. Id never really listened to much of their music before, so as a novice I really dig this stuff. However, don't know that I would buy this, album or rush to see them in concert. Still nice job
Rangers: Lost last night to the Mariners....again. Lately on the road we can't really seem to get any run support. Not sure if thats because of Josh Hamilton being out or not. However, the Crankees come to town this weekend, and hopefully we can get some redemption for the 2 losses in New York at the beginning of the year. Our pitching staff is suspect at best...AT BEST. So Im not really excited to see what happens but The Law has played well at home this year, so we shall see.
Running: Last night I did week 2 day 2 of the couch to 10 K app. It required 8-1 minute runs. Lasted a total of 46 Minutes. It really kicked my ass also. I was in an area over by my house that was all uphill on my way back. See I did 4 runs out, turned around and did 4 on the way back. Its well over 2.5 miles. The thing I never really paid attention to I guess was the fact that it was all down hill on the way out, and all uphill on the way back. The way back really worked me, and I was very out of breath but I managed through the pain. I was very very very tired though when I got home.
Thats all I got today, going to celebrate the anniversary with the MRS. tonight by going to dinner and then to see THOR! It better be good!
